Local election officials weigh in on cost.

  • The Rice County Auditor reported that costs for that county could surpass $120,000.
  • According County Auditor-Treasurer Ryan Tangen, it could cost Becker County as much as $500,000.

In Isanti County at the end of a presentation describing the potential impact of the amendment it was reported that, “Treichel [the County Auditor] appeared a bit exasperated by the whole Voter ID issue. “I wouldn’t want voter numbers to go down because of any reason. I haven’t seen voter fraud in 20 years on this job.”
