Action Alert: Come to the Capitol TODAY at 5:00 to Oppose
Voter ID Amendment
Today, the Minnesota House is voting on a voter photo ID amendment
that would require a photo ID of all voters, eliminate vouching and could make
Election Day Registration impossible to continue. Please
join us outside the House chambers TODAY, Tuesday March 20 at 5 p.m. to stand
in opposition to this amendment.
Even though voters would be asked to approve the amendment
this fall, they would have to wait and see what rules the 2013 Legislature makes
to know if they would be affected by it. The amendment language does not
define which government-issued IDs would be valid, if the ID must have a
current address, how absentee voters would be affected and how a free ‘voter
ID’ could be obtained.
Join us as we demonstrate our opposition against this
amendment, and help us keep our democracy accessible to all eligible voters!
Location: Second floor of the Capitol building outside the House Chambers,
Minnesota State Capitol, 75 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., St. Paul
Time: Tuesday, March 20 at 5 p.m.
