The observer reports 45 challenges in Dakota today, 16 in one precinct (Apply Valley P-15). In this precinct, the officials could not find all of the absentee originals and there was confusion about the duplicates, so the Franken campaign challenged all the absentee ballots.
The observer also reported an issue in Burnsville - 3 precincts had low Coleman counts. According to the report, there were a lot of write-ins for city council, and all of the write-in ballots were pulled from their original precincts and stored separately. A box of these was still at the Burnsville City Hall this afternoon.
The observer's report states that a professor from New York University and a person from the Star Tribune were also present at the recount today.
